On our recent Disney vacation, we decided to end our Florida trip with a visit to an orange farm. While driving to Orlando, we’d seen so many signs advertising Orange Farms; it had been added to our list of ‘things to do’ while in the Sunshine state.
Below is a photo post of our delightful time at the ‘Showcase of Citrus’ : a family owned, family friendly attraction in Clermont, Florida.
On the way to orange picking:
See those cases of honey ?
You can taste before you buy! Delicious! I did know there are so many flavors!
A gorgeous pier:
Croc is fake but the beauty is all real:
Sun and fun indeed (even for the croc):
Loved the ducks- fake but cute:
Being a city dweller all my life, I was amazed to see a rooster (or is it a hen) and a cat casually sauntering in the same area. It was even more surprising that the staff were unperturbed by these animals. (There were a couple of more cats and one dog inside)
All in all, a memorable trip. The oranges were slightly tart and so, we had large mugs of OJ once home and recounted our favorite moments. Do add Orange picking to your list if you are ever in Disney with family.
A fun, healthy and offbeat activity, especially recommended after an overdose of Princesses and high adrenaline rides [and of course, too much sugar/junk food!]!
